Senior Billiards in Newbridge
Round 5 of the senior Billiards tour moved to St Conleth’s CYMS in Newbridge today Sunday 24th Feb. Eleven players started out this morning and in the early matches Aidan Murray defeated John Kehoe 400 – 245, Victor O’Gorman beat Aonghus McAnally 400 – 358 and Wayne Doyle overcame Robert McCrum 400 – 206.
Wayne Doyle Wins in Celbridge
Wayne Doyle won the 4th Intermediate event in the Eastern Region in Celbridge Today Sat.23rd February. ~From early in the tournament it was evident that Wayne would feature strongly as he won his first two matches without dropping a frame. In his semi final he overcame Stephen Merrigan Jr. by 3 frames to 1.
N/ West U-14 & U-16 Event 3
The third instalment of this year’s under 14 and under16 Snooker tournaments for the North west region took place in the North West Snooker club in Letterkenny on Sunday last. There were seven players in the under 14 event and 8 players in the under 16 event. There were a few new faces in this event such as Dylan O Malley from Galway and Ronan Whyte from Ardara, also form Letterkenny were Michael Lagan, Roary Gallen and Charlie Coyle.
Williams wins Anthony Quinn Memorial
St. Conleths CYMS member Johnny Williams won the 12th running of the Anthony Quinn Memorial with a 4 frames to 1 victory over his clubmate Flan Hayes. Once again the tournament attracted entries from around the country with 63 players going to post on Friday night, a testament to the drawing power of this prestigious annual invitational.
Gilchrist wins Irish Open Billiards
Peter Gilchrist is the 2013 Irish Open Champion in the ‘World Billiards’ event ran at the Ivy Rooms in Carlow this weekend. Peter who was defeated in a game by the Republic of Irelands Aidan Murray in the Groups Stages yesterday had to come back to the Ivy Rooms this morning at 10am and do it the hard way, but it no is certain that the defeat to Murray was only a small hiccup for this superstar of Billiards who brushed aside all opposition today en-route to the decider and in the final against…
McCrudden see’s off Star Studded Field in Navan
Martin McCrudden wins the Royal Navan Snooker Tournament, defeating Patrick Wallace in the final on a nerve tingling Black Ball Finish. In a star studded field including Stephen Lee, Rodney Goggins, Michael Judge, Joe Swail, Colm Gilchrist, plus many more, eventually the Celbridge man came out on top in a very exciting finale to ths tough PTC Styled event where all the matches were the best of 7 frames.

Goldrick wins East U-16 Event 3
The third East under 16 ranking event of the season was held in Darcy McGees Spawell Snooker Club in Dublin on Saturday 16th of February. Aaron Goldrick from Cavan beat Michael Woods from Dublin 2 frames to one to win the Under 16 East Region event 3 on the final black ball.

The third East under 14 ranking event of the season was held in Darcy McGees Spawell Snooker Club in Dublin on Saturday 16th of February. Michael Woods from Dublin beat Darragh Cusack from Sutton LTC Dublin 2 frames to one to win the Under 14 final East Region with a great display of match snooker.
Bateman win S/East U/16 Event 3
The South East third under 16 ranking events of the season were held in Darcy McGees Spawell Snooker Club in Dublin on Saturday 16th of February. Stephen Bateman from Kilkennny won the 16 final when he beat Stephen Lawlor from 147 Wexford 3 frames to nil in a high quality final.
Corey wins S/East U/14 Event 3
The South East third under 14 ranking event of the season was held in Darcy McGees Spawell Snooker Club in Dublin on Saturday 16th of February. Corey Ramsbottom from the Ivy Rooms in Carlow won the 14 final when he beat team mate Oisin Harte 2 frames to one in an exciting final.
U-19 Cue School Event 2
On Saturday the 16th Of March RIBSA will be holding the second Under 19 Cue School Event in Ivy Rooms Snooker Club. It was young Aaron Tobin from Youghal winning event one in Newbridge CYMS when he beat Andrew Doherty in the final. All players will be fully focused in event two, on putting in a good performance to put themselves in line before the National Championship to get on the International team for this year’s Home Internationals in September.
