Free Coaching for Registered Clubs
Snooker & Billiards Ireland have just announced a free coaching lesson with our National Coach PJ Nolan for all registered clubs that sign up for SBI Club registration for 2024.
Goggins Wins Amateur Tour Event 4
Rodney Goggins from Wexford won the Snooker & Billiards Ireland (SBI) Event 5 on the 2023-2024 SBI Amateur Tour on Sunday the 12th of February. In the final he beat Ross Bulman from Youghal in an excellent Final.
Nolan Wins 2024 Peter Mcnally Memorial
The 2024 Peter Mcnally Memorial tournament sponsored by Croi Laighean credit was held recently in Edenderry Snooker Club. The event was won by Adam Nolan from Newbridge CYMS after he beat John O Sullivan from Kilkenny Shed.
Gleeson Wins Intermediate Event 3
Mark Gleeson from Nenagh SC beat Shane Bates from Wexford in the Event 3 of the intermediate tour played at Snooker Billiards HQ on Sunday the 4th of February.
Anti-doping Testing
In line with sport Ireland guidelines and the anti-doping protocols for the SBI, we will be conducting a standard drug test in all amateur tour events. This will be a randomised test conducted by the TD and anti-doping appointed officer for the tournament.
Noel Flannery Mind Coach Partnership with SBI
Snooker, Billiards Ireland are delighted to announce a partnership with specialist Mind Coach Noel Flannery from Scotland.
Carrick Wins Super Seniors Over 55 Event 4
Jim Carrick stormed through the Super Seniors 4 tournament which took place on Sunday the 4th of February in the CYMS Club in Newbridge Co. Kildare beating Frank Sarsfield 3-0 in the final.
Anti-doping Testing at SBI tournaments
In line with sport Ireland guidelines and the anti-doping protocols for the SBI, we will be conducting a standard drug test in all amateur tour events, starting with the Amateur tour event 4. This will be a randomised test conducted by the TD and anti-doping appointed officer for the tournament. All testing will be done confidentially and results will be given within 5 minutes of a test. All participants who enter these events are automatically agreeing to testing by entering the tournament.
Practice Facilities in the SBI HQ
Snooker, Billiards Ireland would like to announce that they are opening practice facilities in the SBI HQ in Carlow from the 6th of February to non-competitive players who obtain SBI Membership.
Snooker in Back in Goffs!
In March 2024 Snooker returns to Goffs with all the legends from the game to find the 2024 Mr Vegas World Seniors Snooker 900 champion in the famous venue of Goffs in Co Kildare.
2024 All Ireland Champions
Following all the action from the Gleneagle Hotel All Ireland Snooker Club Championships in Killarney over the weekend we have two new All Ireland Club Champions.
Goggins wins Seniors Event 3 in Killarney
On Sunday 14th of January, SBI held the third Senior (Over 40’s) event of the season in SBI HQ in Carlow with 30 entries in this event. After a long day we got it down to the final where Rodney Goggins from Wexford made it to the final where he faced Tommy O Donoghue from Limerick who had another outstanding run.
