2018 North Vs South Billiards

The 2018 Annual North-South Billiards Challenge will take place Celbridge Snooker Club on Saturday and Sunday the 21st and 22nd of April.

The 2018 Annual North-South Billiards Challenge will take place Celbridge Snooker Club on Saturday and Sunday the 21st and 22nd of April.

The Irish team is Aidan Murray, Joe Doheny, Aonghus McNally, Lloyd Myers, Wayne Doyle, Larry Drennan, Robert McCrum and John Kehoe.  The team Manager is Brendan Devlin

The event promises to be an exciting event and good luck to both teams

The annual Billiards International North-South Challenge Tournament took place at Celbridge Snooker Club, on Saturday and Sunday, 21st and 22nd April 2018. The format of the event was that each team of eight was divided into two groups of four, so that each player met four opponents from his corresponding group, with the consequence that all benefited from the variety of games the format provided.

A total of 10 players contested the event, which meant effectively that only two rounds were played, the last 16 (two matches) and the four quarter finals.

Murray retains the Pat O’Sullivan Memorial Title

The Pat O’Sullivan Memorial handicap tournament was played at Carlow on Sunday, 6th of May 2018. After a day’s play, which saw many games decided on close margins, reigning short format champion Aidan Murray emerged the well deserved winner on the day, winning all his matches despite the significant handicap start he had to give his opponents.
