Star player of the Camp today was Philip Browne with breaks of 130, 127 and 102 in a break building masterclass to win the scoring challenge. Joe Shannon won the Long Potting Challenge while Philip Browne won the Tactical Challenge.

A special word must also go to Lorcán Ó Curraoin on his 125 break on the XBreak.

Our SBI National Coach held sessions on Break-Building, Safety, Long Potting and Technique checks. All the players will receive a training program booklet with practice drills plus a sports phycology booklet to help them work on their Mind Fitness.

SBI President Jim Leacy attended today to wish our players good luck in Leeds and Bulgaria. He was delighted to see 16 players training and that bodes well in helping our players play well. He thanked all the players for attending.

Training Aids

The latest training aids were used in the camp to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get them on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.

PJ was very happy with the players commitment and passion to train and listen. PJ showed several videos to help with their mental focus to improve on the mental side and the technical side of the game before the international events.

It promises to be an exciting period of training for our players and we hope all the players enjoyed the camp. Two more National Team Camps have been arranged for training from 11am-4pm each day in the Academy in Carlow.
